My heart for worshiping the Lord Jesus through music began many years ago. When I was 19 years old and shortly after receiving Jesus Christ as my savior, there came a point in my life where I decided to offer my musical skills and talents to him. It wasn’t long before I started listening to Christian music and got involved at a church located in Auburn, California, in a worship band as a guitarist. At first, I was just a member of the worship band and enjoying that very much.
After a couple of years the associate pastor who was also the worship leader was called into missions and evangelistic ministry. The bass player, also a capable worship leader moved out of town with his family. The senior Pastor at the church encouraged me to step up and consider taking on the role of worship leader. I accepted the worship leader role and have continued leading worship in churches ever since. After four years as worship leader at the church in Auburn, I relocated with my wife to Los Angeles, CA, where I attended Musician’s Institute in Hollywood.
After many years we are still located in Los Angeles, CA. My wife Jennifer and I have two children, my son Elliott, and my daughter Kara. I have been involved in several church bands as a guitarist, vocalist, and worship leader for many years and this is the calling the Lord has placed on my life for ministry and service in his church.
About 14 years ago I was attending a church in West Los Angeles that began having a monthly worship and prayer night where we would spend a couple of hours just singing songs and praying for each other; it was not long after that the Lord put it on my heart to start having regular times of extended musical worship. We started meeting on a regular basis and sometimes the singing would go on for 2 hours or more. The purpose of having these times of worship is to express our love for the Lord. I love what a pastor friend of mine once said, “When we worship the Lord in spirit and in truth, the result is God’s enthroned presence wherever we are and in whatever circumstances we are in.” I look forward to meeting together with everyone as we continue with these evenings of worship!
